Just one notion : This was rural and, should we say, old fashioned wedding... Last time I attended one was at least 10 years ago... Still nice memories from those :)))

Truth is ... Probably because people who work there are not employed for their experience or knowledge or anything similar... They are employed because they are brothers, sisters, daughters, sons, etc. etc. of someone "on the position" ... So figure it out yourself. ;) And second thing is - they probably haven't got enough money for any foreign campaign, anyway :)

I visited Novi Sad Serbia this past October 2011 and had an amazing time. The serbian people are by far the most hospitable people I've ever met. They are a poor people but think nothing of offering the little they have to their guests. My friends and family too were afriad for me to go to Serbia heads filled with misinformation and really did not make it an easy trip to take because of their fear. Upon my return I shared photos and stories of the wonderful people I had met and hopefully have opened their narrow minds a little to going outside their box.

I understand that Serb trains do not take unfolded bikes. Two questions:
1. Are there river ferry services that take bikes (e.g. from Belgrade back up to Croatia or to Hungary)??
2. Any chance that the national express bus services take unfolded bikes??
Thanks in advance for any advice.

@Mark
I love your view of Serbia and Belgrade as it seems to be unbiased. And you're right there is a certain escapism tone to Serbia and Belgrade. I discovered that only recently but it's 100% true.
One thing though: Serbia (or ex Yugoslavia) was never in the "Eastern Bloc". It is probably one of the many prejudices westerners have about this country. Hopefully "Enter Serbia" will dismantle them. :)
Great post btw!

I went up in the tower last year. Sadly, no restaurant at the time as they had not found a company to run one. Does anyone know if the restaurant is open now? I would like to go again in June if it is.

Laila, physical punishment is diferrent than abuse. A slight spank on the behind is in fact considered a physical punishment- but is it an abuse? No. I am not saying that there is no abuse at all, it is everywhere around us. But spanking and calling names is our way of discipline. I have lived in US for past 15 years and I can tell you one thing- I would ALWAYS discipline my child the way my dad disciplined me rather than 'discipline' them the way 'the rest of the world' discipline their kids.At least I have learned how to respect others and distinguish right from wrong. Today's kids are pretty much rude,careless, set for failure in so many ways. Here- you will never see a youngster get up from the seat in bus and allow elderly to sit in. NEVER! You don't want me to continue with examples of 'quite and nice upbrining', believe me :-)
